​I booked an appointment here expecting the high standard of service I experienced 4 years ago in this location, only to find out upon arrival that the salon is under new ownership. Unfortunately, the entire experience fell well short of expectations.I explained in my original message that I had been there before but couldn\'t remember the name of the stylist and when they responded to book me I assumed they found me in the system and put me in with the stylist I saw 4 years ago - It felt a bit misleading to book me without letting me know they didn\'t have me as a past client. ​My appointment was to help me get closer to color a stylist elsewhere fell short of and the receptionist booked me with a brand-new, freshly licensed stylist and I feel that was a very poor judgement call. My stylist told me the receptionist who made my appointment is young bc I told her I was surprised they had me come in the day after id just had my color done & she said \"the receptionist who booked you is younger so maybe she doesn\'t realize your hair needs to rest,\" and I was expecting her to tell me I should wait before doing anything to it but she didn\'t. I need to be clear that my hair was uniform in color with just a few thin highlights, so this was not \"color correction\" for damaged, green, or striped hair and it was not complex - it was adding foils for a partial (and I should point out she only uses 16 foils for a partial highlight/lowlights on my thick hair that even she acknowledged was thick- every other partial I\'ve ever had with hi/low used close to 30 foils). ​Several significant issues occurred during the service: I\'ve already mentioned the amount of foils used, that was surprising since in the 30 years I\'ve been having my hair done, the number of foils used is almost double what she used. ​Root Melt: My original request was to match my base to my natural roots. She obviously couldn\'t see my natural root color but I did tell her the base was supposed to have matched my natural color & what had already been done was ½ shade darker w/a different hue. Without showing me a swatch, she added a color to melt roots & that left my base another l full shade darker than I came in with leaving me at least 1½ shades darker than I am - not only a shocking and drastic difference but when you have your hair dyed a darker color than your natural color, it requires a lot of maintenance and my goal was to get to a low maintenance look - now I have the exact opposite. ​Flawed Foil Execution: Highlights were missed on the last few inches of my ends, leaving visible gaps where the color doesn\'t run through to the bottom. I should have said something when I saw her fold the foil with dry ends but I second guessed myself until I got home and looked closely where I saw her do this. Furthermore, the \"money pieces\" meant to frame my face were not done back-to-back starting at the hairline; dark hair was left woven in front, completely ruining the bold look requested (most noticeably on the right side of my part). Yes from a distance it will pass on the left but closer up and when I look in the mirror, I see it and hate it. I did try to point it out to her as she was drying my hair but she must have misunderstood me because she went and got toner and applied it to my root. ​What was supposed to be a simple warm toner (at the start she asked me if I wanted a toner to add warmth and I said yes) turned into a chaotic trial-and-error process with 3 or 4 back-to-back toners applied at the sink. She added 1 toner, rinsed me, added another, then another stylist came over and had her mix and added a 3rd toner and then I had that one on for about 5 mins the other stylist had her add a 4th so by this point I\'m panicking that the color is really messed up if they had to use that many toners. When drying began, my fear was realized, the money pieces came out stark white rather than blonde. The owner tried to tell me it was \"just ashy,\" but I\'m sorry, I\'ve seen & had ashy blonde before and it didn\'t look like that. after the owner told me it was just ashy, I decided I should just keep my mouth shut about being unhappy and found myself apologizing for complaining. I wish I had stuck to being honest about how I felt. Regardless, I had to be sent back to the sink for yet another toner (making that 5 total toners) just to make it presentable. ​Overpriced for Junior Execution: Charging $235 for a partial highlight done by the most junior stylist on staff—especially when much of that time was spent correcting tone mistakes at the sink—is unreasonable. Even more so when you consider that it was only 16 foils & many of those foils that weren\'t applied properly. ​After 2.5 hours and over $235 out of pocket (plus tip), my hair is merely tolerable while I wait 4 to 5 weeks for it to recover enough to get it properly fixed elsewhere. I am going to reach out to the owner and if she refuses to adjust the price, I will dispute the entire charge with my credit card company. There was some poor judgement with one staff member\'s attire (I don\'t know what her position is,I didn\'t see her doing hair but she wasn\'t at the front desk when I paid) Her Halloween costume featured a skirt so short her butt was exposed when she walked bc it was so short it rode up — completely BEYOND unprofessional for a customer-facing business ( & owner was there & not bothered by it). I saw a lot of reviews saying the salon is beautiful and clean but I disagree - it is acceptable but the chair the nail techs sit in was extremely dirty, the furniture seems worn, there was a lot of hair sitting in piles near the station I was at, there\'s dust and hair on baseboards - salons that charge as much as this place does are usually immaculate. Gloss & Mane isnt terrible but it\'s definitely far from the place I went to in 2022.
